Produced by adidas, this training piece features a bold red and blue two-tone design with an oversized Bayern crest spread across the entire chest — an unmistakable product of the club's "FC Hollywood" era. It was worn on the training ground during a period of domestic resurgence: Bayern had just lifted the 1996 UEFA Cup with a 5–1 aggregate win over Bordeaux under Franz Beckenbauer, before Giovanni Trapattoni returned to lead the club to the 1996/97 Bundesliga title, finishing two points ahead of Bayer Leverkusen. The season also marked Jürgen Klinsmann's final campaign in his second spell with the club, ending as top scorer with 15 league goals.
