The 2017/18 campaign was a historic one for Kitchee, as the club completed a domestic treble, winning the Hong Kong Premier League unbeaten with 16 wins and 2 draws, along with the FA Cup and Sapling Cup. Kitchee also became the first-ever team from Hong Kong to win an AFC Champions League group stage match, defeating Kashiwa Reysol 1-0. The shirt carries the #18 of Diego Forlán, the 2010 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner who joined in January 2018. Forlán scored five league goals in seven appearances, including a hat-trick in a 5-1 away win over Lee Man, and ended his playing career with the club.
