The team finished the campaign with 13 wins, 3 draws, and 2 defeats, scoring 44 goals while conceding 20 to secure the title ahead of TSW Pegasus and South China. The season also saw Kitchee complete a remarkable treble, winning the Hong Kong FA Cup in a dramatic penalty shootout against TSW Pegasus after a 3-3 draw, and capturing the League Cup with a 2-1 victory over the same opponents. Jordi Tarrés, wearing #18, his arrival alongside fellow Spaniards Roberto Losada, Fernando Recio, and Dani Cancela marked the beginning of Kitchee's golden era in Hong Kong football.
