In the Europa League round of 32, Galatasaray were eliminated by eventual tournament winners Atlético Madrid, losing 2-3 on aggregate after a dramatic 90th-minute Diego Forlán winner in the second leg at home. The club were also knocked out of the Turkish Cup quarter-finals by Antalyaspor on away goals.
