Umbro’s white long-sleeve home shirt uses red and navy detailing, and was worn during England’s 2006 World Cup campaign as well as the opening phase of UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying. England won Group B in Germany 2006 before reaching the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated by Portugal on penalties after a goalless draw. A notable match in this shirt came against Ecuador in the Round of 16 on 25 June 2006: captain David Beckham scored a second-half free-kick in a 1-0 victory that sent England into the last eight. The side was part of England’s widely labelled “Golden Generation,” featuring established names including Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen.
