2003/04 Hong Kong Home Jersey. Made by Diadora, this red home shirt was the kit used by the Hong Kong national team during the 2003/04 international season. The period saw Hong Kong compete in the 2003 East Asian Football Championship final round and the 2004 AFC Asian Cup qualifying campaign, where the team topped its preliminary group before exiting at the qualifying round stage. The jersey’s most notable outing came on August 8, 2003, when a combined Hong Kong-China squad, augmented by six loan players from Dalian Shide, wore it against Real Madrid’s “Galácticos” line-up of Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo, Raúl, Roberto Carlos and a newly signed David Beckham at a sold-out Hong Kong Stadium. Real Madrid won 4-2, with Wang Peng and Li Yao scoring for the home side in front of 40,000 spectators. Lee Wai Man took over as Hong Kong captain from late 2003, leading the side through this era.
