Jersey Story

1996/98 Leeds United Home Jersey. A classic white home shirt produced by Puma, the brand’s first kit for the club during its 1996–2000 manufacturing spell, with Packard Bell as the chest sponsor. The shirt was worn across two transitional Premier League campaigns. In 1996/97, George Graham replaced Howard Wilkinson as manager in September, and Leeds finished 11th. The following season brought clear progress, as Graham’s side finished 5th to move into the UEFA Cup, while their FA Cup run ended in a 1-0 quarter-final defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. New signing Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink top-scored with 16 league goals in 1997/98, and Liverpool legend Ian Rush wore this shirt during his single season at Elland Road.
