The 2017/18 season was historic for Kitchee, completing a quadruple by winning the Hong Kong Premier League unbeaten with 16 wins and 2 draws, the FA Cup, the Sapling Cup and the season play-offs. Kitchee also became the first Hong Kong side to win an AFC Champions League group stage match, defeating Kashiwa Reysol 1-0 at Hong Kong Stadium. The shirt carries the #18 of Diego Forlán, the 2010 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner who joined in January 2018. Forlán made his debut in this shirt on 14 January 2018 against Eastern at Mong Kok Stadium, scored five league goals in seven appearances including a hat-trick against Lee Man, and ended his playing career with the club.
