Eastern competed in the inaugural Hong Kong Premier League season, finishing fourth in the league, and reached the Hong Kong FA Cup semi-finals before being eliminated by eventual champions Kitchee. The most notable match during this period was the 2014–15 Senior Shield final on 17 January 2015, where Eastern defeated Kitchee 2–1 in a dramatic final to claim their first trophy of the season. Yapp Hung Fai, wearing the #1 jersey, was a consistent starter in goal and reaffirmed his status as Hong Kong’s top goalkeeper, having been named in the Hong Kong Premier League Team of the Year for the 2014–15 season.
