Nike’s red home shirt continued Hong Kong’s traditional all-red identity, with a sash-inspired graphic across the body; the corresponding away version used the same concept in white and grey. The kit launch also introduced a redesigned Hong Kong FA crest, divided into red and white to reflect the city’s “One Country, Two Systems” context. This #7 shirt is associated with striker Chan Siu Ki, who wore the number in Hong Kong’s 2012 East Asian Cup qualifying campaign and scored five international goals in 2012. A notable match in this period was Hong Kong’s 2–1 win over Chinese Taipei in December 2012, a result that helped the side progress from the first qualifying round of the 2013 East Asian Cup. Chan remained one of the leading local forwards of his generation and later returned to South China for 2013/14 wearing the No. 7 shirt.
