The standout home performance came on 20 April 2008, when Villa beat local rivals Birmingham City 5-1 at Villa Park in this shirt, with Ashley Young and John Carew both scoring twice and Gabriel Agbonlahor adding the fifth. Carew finished as the club's top scorer with 13 goals, while it was the final season for long-serving defender Olof Mellberg before his move to Juventus.
