This iconic redcurrant-colored Nike kit was specially designed to commemorate Arsenal’s final season at Highbury stadium after 93 years, featuring “Highbury 1913-2006” embroidery around the club crest. The deep burgundy shade pays homage to the original red worn when Arsenal first moved to Highbury in 1913. Worn during Arsenal’s historic Champions League run to their first-ever European Cup final, where they lost 2-1 to Barcelona at the Stade de France. The team finished fourth in the Premier League, securing Champions League qualification on the final day with a 4-2 victory over Wigan Athletic, when Thierry Henry scored a hat-trick in what many expected to be his farewell performance at the famous ground.
