This special commemorative edition was produced by adidas Japan and the JFA after the 2002 FIFA World Cup, using the same deep blue home design with white three stripes and the bold “2002” script on the chest. On the back, a unique print titled "ありがとう日本" (Thank You Japan) lists the full 23‑man squad, coaching staff, group table and match results, all in Japanese, turning the shirt into a record of the entire tournament journey. Japan, co‑hosts of Korea/Japan 2002, topped Group H against Belgium, Russia and Tunisia before reaching the World Cup knockout stage for the first time, eventually falling to Turkey in the Round of 16. As a fan‑issue memorial rather than a standard player‑nameset jersey, it has become a sought‑after collectible among Samurai Blue supporters and shirt collectors.
